Mission Statement
Global Bengali Hindu Coalition (GBHC) is an organization of Bengali Hindus around the globe. it is a Human Rights organization along with some economic development activities as it thinks that mostly poor Hindus are being persecuted.
It consists of mostly Bangladeshi Hindus and the expatriate Hindus along with Bengali speaking Indian Hindus. The organization will raise its voice against Hindu persecution in Indian subcontinent giving importance to Bangladeshi Hindus.
Just before or after the partition of India Bengali Hindus were targeted for persecution and Hindus in East Pakistan, now Bangladesh are suffering till today with no signs of remission and rather it is increased by many folds and in various ways. Hindus in this area faces state sponsored and targeted persecution and India always looked other way! Great Kolkata killings, Noakhali killings, Khulna, Barisal pogroms, 1950, 1964, 1990-1991, 2001 pogroms all are targeted Bengali Hindu killings and persecution by Muslims.
After Indian partition population exchange did not happen in Bengal, in 1971 during freedom fight Hindus were targeted, India freed Bangladesh but didn’t include any ‘safety measures’ for the survival of the Hindus and other religious minorities in Bangladesh. In 1971 Hindus were 15 million out of the roughly 75 million people in East Pakistan and now in Bangladesh has about 170 million people, Hindus are still 15 million? The big question is where are those missing Hindus and what is that number and why they are missing?
World media, specifically Indian media is silent about the ‘Slow Genocide’ in that part of the world. Every human being has a right to live peacefully in their ancestral land, Bangladeshi Hindus are deprived of their rights every day. A 75 year old Hindu had to change citizenship three times not even knowing why and not being a party in that but facing oppression all along. This has to stop. We believe in peaceful and democratic solutions, world body needs to come forward to solve the problem and save an endangered species of Bangladeshi Hindus. By the word Hindu we mean Hindu, Buddhist, indigenous and tribal people along with small endangered species of that part of the world.
